Courtney Saxon, Director of Branch Services

Courtney Saxon serves as the Director of Branch Services for the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (SCDMV), a position she has held since March 2020. Prior to becoming Director, she served as Deputy Director of Branch Services. During her more than 20 years with the agency, Courtney has held positions ranging from Customer Service Representative and Commercial and Non-Commercial License Examiner to Customer Service Trainer, Branch Manager, and Regional Manager overseeing 14 branch offices.

As Director of Branch Services, Courtney oversees the SCDMV’s statewide customer-facing operations, including 65 branch offices, seven customer contact centers consisting of one remote center and six satellite centers, and Web Correspondence operations. Web Correspondence includes one remote team and 12 teams located within branch offices and provides customers with assistance through electronic communications.

Courtney also oversees the agency’s Mobile Operations, including the Community Area Response Emergency Services (CARES) vehicle and Self-contained Hazardous Area Response Kits (SHARKs), which provide mobile DMV services for disaster recovery efforts.

In addition to customer service operations, Courtney’s responsibilities include self-service kiosk operations, branch facilities and security, workforce and budget management, strategic initiatives, technology implementations, and customer experience improvements. She works closely with agency leadership and external partners to expand access to DMV services and improve the way customers interact with the SCDMV.

Courtney’s extensive experience at every level of branch operations, from serving customers at the front counter to leading statewide operations, gives her a unique perspective on the challenges facing employees and customers and the opportunities to improve the delivery of DMV services across South Carolina.
